With an annual processing volume of more than $10 trillion, Visa is without a doubt the market leader in terms of payment processors. However, data compiled reveals that the two other major credit card companies in the world, Mastercard and American Express, have already fallen behind the leaders in the digital and mobile payment space, Apple Pay and Alipay, both of which process more than $6 trillion in annual payments.
